About the role
We are seeking an experienced Welder Fabricator to join a busy engineering company’s workshop in Billington. The role involves manufacturing structural steel and heavy‑fabrication components to high standards, using engineering drawings and industry‑leading techniques.
Key responsibilities
- Fabricate structural steel and heavy steel components from engineering drawings.
- Perform MIG welding to consistently high standards.
- Measure, mark out, cut and assemble steelwork.
- Operate fabrication machinery, hand tools and workshop equipment safely.
- Carry out quality inspections to ensure work meets specifications.
- Work efficiently as part of a skilled fabrication team.
Required profile
- Proven experience in structural steel or heavy fabrication.
- Strong MIG welding and fabrication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work independently or as part of a team.
