Welder – Hinkley Point C (Bridgwater)

About the role

Framatome Limited is seeking a skilled Welder to join its team at the Hinkley Point C site in Bridgwater. The role involves joining stainless‑steel components using TIG (141) and MMA (111) processes on both manual and semi‑automatic equipment, supporting the nuclear energy sector.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, maintain and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Apply knowledge of metallurgy and material properties to achieve high‑quality welds.
• Follow and comply with the relevant Welding Procedure Specification (WPS).
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and adhere to company safety policies.
• Ensure work meets project specifications, quality standards and deadlines.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail, good time‑keeping and physical fitness.

Required profile

• BS EN ISO 9606 coded welding qualification completed at the Avonmouth facility.
• Entry‑level trade test for NNB at Bridgwater College (ECITB) or equivalent.
• Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Welding/Fabrication, or a recognised welding apprenticeship (minimum Level 5 in Scotland).
• Minimum 3 years (or 5 years for senior level) relevant welding experience, verified through a competency‑based interview.
• Valid safety passport and ability to meet the MEH matrix requirements.
