Winch Support Technician

About the role

We are looking for a Winch Support Technician to provide technical and operational assistance for subsea robotics, intervention and workover control equipment on a global basis. The role involves offshore and on‑shore support, troubleshooting, installations and upgrades of winch and related systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist offshore installations and interfacing of ROV systems, subsea tooling, workover control, tensioner and reel equipment.
• Perform complex troubleshooting, repairs and winch drum change‑outs both offshore and onshore.
• Support system upgrades, factory acceptance testing and documentation of procedures.
• Collaborate with SCM to identify obsolete parts and with software teams to test new releases.
• Maintain a ShareFile library of technical support documents and create flow‑charts for offshore crews.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school (preferred).
• Relevant experience with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems in a subsea environment.
• Willingness to travel offshore and on‑site up to 30 % of the time.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform tasks such as standing, walking, kneeling and crawling.

Required skills

• Mechanical, hydraulic and electrical system knowledge.
• Experience with ROV systems, winch drum change‑outs and subsea tooling.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and performing factory acceptance testing.
• Ability to produce technical documentation and maintain ShareFile libraries.
