Woodwork Operative

About the role

We are seeking a Woodwork Operative to join a busy workshop in Ashford, delivering high‑quality timber products. You will work as part of a small team, following production schedules and maintaining strict quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately cut timber and panel materials to specified dimensions using hand and power tools.
• Sand components to achieve smooth, consistent surfaces and prepare items for finishing.
• Apply laminates and veneers with precision, ensuring correct adhesion and alignment.
• Carry out finishing processes such as staining, sealing, painting or varnishing.
• Inspect finished items for quality and conformity to drawings and specifications.
• Maintain and clean machinery, tools and work areas; perform routine checks and report faults.
• Follow health and safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Complete basic production paperwork and assist with packaging and dispatch when needed.

Required profile

• Interest in carpentry.
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
• Own transport is essential due to the client’s location.
