Workforce Professionalisation Lead

About the role

Orbit, one of the UK’s largest housing groups, is seeking a Workforce Professionalisation Lead to shape and embed professional standards across the organisation. You will ensure the workforce is equipped with the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to meet emerging sector requirements and deliver high‑quality services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of Orbit’s workforce professionalisation strategy in partnership with the Head of Learning and Talent Development.
• Translate regulatory and sector requirements into practical, organisation‑wide approaches.
• Support readiness for the Competence and Conduct Standard, identifying relevant roles and qualification pathways.
• Embed professional standards within the Professional Development Framework and align them with capability and career pathways.
• Design and implement qualification routes such as CIH Level 4/5 or equivalent.
• Build and maintain relationships with professional bodies and learning providers.
• Support key organisational priorities, including the Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) programme.

Required profile

• Significant experience in senior learning, organisational development, workforce capability or professional standards roles.
• Proven track record of delivering organisation‑wide impact.
• Strong leadership behaviours and alignment with Orbit’s values.
• Ability to coach and develop individuals and shape ways of working.
