Workplace Technician

About the role

SNG is looking for a Workplace Technician to join its Workplace Facilities Team. You will support multiple offices across Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, ensuring that each site is well‑maintained and that customers receive a high level of service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage routine maintenance programmes for office buildings, parking, landscaped areas and storage.
• Carry out regular workplace checks against service level agreements.
• Raise work orders for specialist assistance and upload related documentation.
• Perform a wide range of repairs, including joinery, basic plumbing, internal painting and general office repairs.
• Oversee contractors on site, ensuring RAMS and permit‑to‑work procedures are followed.
• Source materials and raise purchase orders through the finance system.
• Support security tasks such as fire and panic alarm testing, lock changes, door‑code management and car‑park access monitoring.
• Occasionally attend sites out of hours to supervise contractors or carry out urgent servicing.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar facilities or maintenance role.
• Ability to carry out minor maintenance works safely and efficiently.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and people skills.
• Proven ability to build effective relationships with colleagues and contractors.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work in an agile manner.
• Willingness to be office‑based and work on‑site as required.
