Workshop Controller – HGV Dealership

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to lead the day‑to‑day operations of a busy HGV workshop. You will be responsible for driving efficiency, productivity and profitability while maintaining high standards of health & safety, compliance and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, allocate and monitor work to maximise workshop efficiency and profitability.
• Lead, motivate and develop the workshop team, ensuring clear communication with service, parts and customers.
• Oversee accurate completion of repair and service documentation.
• Manage workshop equipment, tooling and calibration records.
• Collaborate with the Parts department to minimise downtime.
• Ensure manufacturer warranty standards and audit readiness are met.
• Maintain exceptional health & safety and housekeeping standards.
• Support customer‑satisfaction initiatives and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in an HGV, commercial vehicle or heavy automotive workshop environment.
• Strong organisational and leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and prioritise workloads.
• Good understanding of health & safety requirements.
• Customer‑focused with a commitment to quality and operational excellence.
