Workshop Engineer – Forklift & Mobile Plant

About the role

The Workshop Engineer will join a well‑established business specialising in forklift trucks, mobile plant and material handling equipment. Based in a workshop environment, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and breakdown repairs on forklift trucks, mobile plant machinery and other industrial vehicles.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults.
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
• Maintain accurate service records and complete necessary documentation.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure health and safety standards are met.

Required profile

• Hands‑on engineering experience in a workshop or industrial setting.
• Maintenance experience with forklift trucks, mobile plant machinery, HGVs or other industrial vehicles.
• Practical knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Recognised engineering qualification (minimum Level 3 preferred).
