Workshop Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead our vehicle maintenance workshop in Bishops Cleeve, Gloucestershire. The role is full‑time, permanent and involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring safety compliance and delivering high‑quality service to internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise and supervise all workshop activities, including repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Manage workshop staff, allocate tasks, monitor performance and provide coaching where needed.
• Maintain workshop inventory, order parts and ensure tools and equipment are in good condition.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, particularly those relating to HGV operations.
• Schedule work to meet the Monday‑Friday 7:00 am‑4:30 pm timetable and alternate Saturday shifts (7:00 am‑11:30 am).
• Prepare reports on productivity, downtime and cost control for senior management.

Required profile

• Valid HGV Class 2 licence.
• Level 3 qualification in a relevant technical field.
• Strong organisational and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including alternate Saturdays.
• Ex‑military candidates are encouraged to apply.
