Workshop Technician – 6‑month contract

About the role

We are looking for a Workshop Technician to join our Milton Keynes facility on a six‑month contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent. You will work on assembling, testing and dispatching entry‑system products for the rail industry, following strict quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect components at the pre‑installation stage and refurbish mechanical entry‑system parts.
• Assemble and test products according to workshop instructions and complete related work orders and test sheets.
• Receive deliveries, sign off packing lists and manage packing, labelling and dispatch using core IT systems.
• Assist with metal waste sorting and recycling, stock‑taking and support the engineering project team when required.
• Maintain compliance with the ISO 9001 quality management system.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a workshop or warehouse environment.
• Basic assembly and production experience.
• Strong work ethic and ability to follow detailed instructions.

Required skills

• Mechanical assembly techniques.
• Use of workshop tools and testing equipment.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality procedures.
