Workshop Technician – Marine & Subsea Engineering

About the role

This role supports a well‑established engineering and technical services business that delivers specialist marine and subsea operations. The Workshop Technician will work primarily in the Chandler’s Ford workshop, with occasional travel to Plymouth to assist operational and diving teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support workshop manufacturing and equipment build activities.
• Assist with maintenance of plant equipment and facilities.
• Carry out basic mechanical assembly and repair tasks.
• Support logistics and operational requirements as needed.
• Maintain accurate equipment and operational records.
• Follow health, safety and quality procedures.
• Travel occasionally to Plymouth to support operational and diving teams.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a workshop or operational environment.
• Practical, proactive attitude with good problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong team‑working and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence (desirable).
• Engineering, science or vocational qualifications (beneficial).

Required skills

• Use of workshop tools and equipment.
• Mechanical assembly and repair techniques.
• Technical measurement and mechanical terminology.
• Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
