WorkWell Delivery Lead

About the role

The WorkWell Delivery Lead will head Southwark Council’s WorkWell programme, which supports residents with health‑related barriers to gain and keep employment. Reporting to senior local‑economy leadership, you will provide operational direction for an in‑house employment support service and ensure the programme meets quality, performance and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of the WorkWell programme across Southwark.
• Manage, motivate and develop a team of Work and Health Coaches.
• Build and maintain partnerships with NHS providers, council services and external employers.
• Coordinate with Connect to Work and Southwark Works to create a joined‑up service offering.
• Oversee programme governance, quality assurance, financial management and reporting.
• Monitor outcomes and ensure compliance with statutory and funding requirements.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience managing high‑performing teams.
• Track record of delivering employment, skills or health‑related support programmes.
• Strong stakeholder management and partnership‑building abilities.
• Experience managing complex projects or programmes with measurable outcomes.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Commitment to inclusion, social impact and improving opportunities for residents.
