Yard Operative & FLT Counterbalance Driver

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Yard Operative who can also operate a counter‑balance FLT. The role is based in Chester and involves handling timber stock for a busy distribution business. Full training is provided and the position offers a clear path from temporary to permanent employment.

Key responsibilities

• Safely load and unload vehicles using FLT equipment, including side loaders.
• Palletise timber materials efficiently and securely.
• Move, organise and maintain timber stock within the yard.
• Keep the work area clean and adhere to health and safety procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Valid RTITB or ITSSAR counter‑balance FLT licence, refreshed within the last three years.
• Proven experience driving FLT equipment.
• Willingness to be trained on a combi lift/side loader (previous experience is a plus).
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking attitude with good communication skills.
