Yard Operative & Forklift Driver – Builders Merchant

About the role
Join a respected independent timber and builders merchant in Reading as a Yard Operative and Forklift Driver. You will be the first point of contact for customers, keep the yard safe and tidy, and handle the loading and unloading of deliveries.
Key responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers arriving at the branch.
- Maintain a tidy yard and ensure health & safety compliance at all times.
- Check, account for, and correctly load goods.
- Provide product advice and excellent customer service.
- Operate a forklift to unload and load deliveries safely.
Required profile
- Good attitude and willingness to learn.
- Previous yard, warehouse or labouring experience is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of timber and building materials (training provided if lacking).

- Forklift operation
