About the role
We are seeking a full‑time Year 1 Primary Teacher to join a vibrant junior school in Leytonstone, London. The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 1 class, delivering a skills‑based curriculum that covers phonics, English and maths alongside a broad range of subjects.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons for Year 1 pupils.
- Implement the phonics programme and support literacy development.
- Teach core subjects (English, maths) and contribute to other curricular areas.
- Maintain a well‑managed, inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with the year‑group team and school leadership.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a minimum of two years teaching experience.
- Strong knowledge of Key Stage 1 curriculum and phonics.
- Passionate, dynamic and able to set high expectations for pupil achievement.
- Motivated to work as part of a supportive team.
