Year 1 Supply Teacher – Canterbury Primary Schools

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic Year 1 teachers to join primary schools across Canterbury on a supply basis. The role supports pupils as they transition from Reception to Key Stage 1, helping them build confidence, independence and a love of learning.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons that meet the curriculum for Year 1.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment and manage behaviour effectively.
• Assess pupil progress and provide targeted support to help each child reach their potential.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and school leadership to ensure a cohesive learning experience.

Required profile

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be working towards it.
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, preferably Year 1.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
• Commitment to pupil progress and development.

Required skills

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
