About the role
We are seeking a qualified Year 1 Teacher to join a large, two‑form entry primary school in South Leeds. The role starts in September 2026 and runs for at least two terms, delivering engaging, differentiated lessons to a mixed‑ability Year 1 class.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver differentiated lessons that meet the national curriculum for Year 1.
- Assess, mark and provide constructive feedback to pupils, parents and carers.
- Collaborate with the class support assistant to ensure effective classroom management.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and contribute to parent‑teacher meetings.
- Uphold the school’s ethos and positive behaviour policies.
Required profile
- Fully qualified teacher (QTS) with experience in Key Stage 1, preferably Year 1.
- Demonstrated ability to plan engaging, differentiated lessons.
- Experience with phonics instruction.
- Willingness to obtain a DBS check.
