Year 1 Teacher – Primary School (Islington)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Islington. The successful candidate will lead a class of approximately 25‑26 pupils, delivering the National Curriculum and fostering a supportive learning environment from September.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons for Year 1, covering all core subjects.
• Assess pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
• Maintain effective classroom management and a positive atmosphere.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support the school’s inclusive ethos and SEN provision.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about pupil development.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• Previous experience teaching Key Stage 1 (KS1) pupils.
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
• Commitment to high standards of teaching and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• QTS certification.
• Experience delivering the National Curriculum for KS1.
