Year 1 Teacher – Temp to Perm (Leigh)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher for a vibrant primary school in Leigh. This full‑time, temporary‑to‑permanent position starts in September and offers a smooth transition to a permanent contract for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the Key Stage 1 curriculum to Year 1 pupils, ensuring a smooth transition from EYFS.
• Plan and deliver engaging, active lessons that inspire young learners.
• Implement phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc. to develop early reading skills.
• Maintain excellent classroom management and clear communication with pupils and parents.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and phonics instruction.
• Creative approach to lesson design and a passion for supporting early learners.
• Enhanced DBS clearance, overseas police checks if applicable, and professional references.
• Legal right to work in the UK and a CV covering the last ten years of employment.
