Year 2 Class Teacher – Full‑time (Maternity Cover)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Year 2 Class Teacher to join a "Good" OFSTED‑rated primary school in Kensington and Chelsea. This full‑time, two‑term maternity cover starts in September 2026 and runs until April 2027. The role offers the chance to work in a supportive environment with a strong senior leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across reading, writing and mathematics in line with the KS1 curriculum.
• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge in core subjects and adapt teaching to meet diverse learner needs.
• Manage classroom behaviour confidently, maintaining a positive and structured learning environment.
• Build professional relationships with parents and carers, communicating progress and expectations.
• Uphold high expectations for both academic achievement and conduct.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a solid understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
• Proven experience teaching Year 2 or KS1 pupils, including managing behaviour.
• Experience supporting pupils with varying needs, including those presenting behavioural challenges.
• Resilient, proactive and able to work collaboratively with senior leadership.
