Year 3 Supply Teacher – Canterbury Primary Schools

About the role

Hays Education is partnering with primary schools across Canterbury to recruit enthusiastic Year 3 teachers on a supply basis. The role involves delivering engaging lessons to pupils transitioning from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2, fostering independence, confidence and resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, curriculum‑aligned lessons for Year 3 classes.
• Support pupils as they develop independence and confidence during the KS2 transition.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment and manage behaviour effectively.
• Collaborate with school leadership, colleagues and parents to monitor and promote pupil progress.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards QTS.
• Experience teaching in primary education, preferably Lower KS2.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
• Commitment to pupil achievement and building positive relationships.

Required skills

• Ability to design and deliver engaging, creative lessons.
• Effective communication with pupils, parents and staff.
