Year 4 Primary Teacher – Wigan

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Year 4 Primary Teacher to join a vibrant school in Wigan starting in October 2026. The role runs until the post‑holder returns in March, offering a focused, high‑energy environment where you can make a lasting impact on junior learners during a pivotal year of their education.

Key responsibilities

• Full teaching responsibilities for a Year 4 class, including planning, assessment and reporting.
• Implement the school's behaviour policy consistently and fairly.
• Prepare students for transition to Year 5 by fostering independence and academic confidence.
• Participate in staff meetings and school‑wide events.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Proven experience teaching within Key Stage 2, preferably Year 4.
• Strong understanding of the Year 4 curriculum and assessment frameworks.
• Excellent classroom management and ability to build quick rapport with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Commitment to the inclusive, community‑focused ethos of Wigan schools.
