About the role
This full‑time temporary position provides maternity cover for a Year 5 class in a welcoming primary school in Colne, Lancashire. The role runs from September 2026 to February 2027 and focuses on delivering an engaging Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative, well‑structured lessons for Year 5 pupils.
- Maintain high standards of classroom and behaviour management.
- Use assessment data to identify next steps and support pupil progress.
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students, including those with SEND.
- Collaborate with staff to share ideas and enhance the learning experience.
Required profile
- Recent experience teaching Year 5 or Upper Key Stage 2.
- Strong understanding of the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum.
- Ability to integrate quickly into a supportive team environment.
