About the role

An exceptional two‑form entry primary school in Reading is looking for a passionate Year 5 Teacher to join its permanent staff from September 2026. The role involves delivering inspiring, curriculum‑aligned lessons while fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality Year 5 lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
• Use effective assessment and data to monitor progress and inform future teaching.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom culture where every pupil can succeed.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share ideas and improve practice.
• Build strong partnerships with parents and carers.
• Contribute to the wider school life, including enrichment activities and events.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Recent experience teaching in a UK primary school.
• Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective classroom practice.
• Strong communication, organisation and classroom‑management abilities.
• Commitment to raising achievement and fostering a positive learning environment.
