About the role
Reed Education is supporting a friendly school in East Grinstead with a Year 5 Teacher role that starts as soon as possible and runs until the end of the academic year. The position is part‑time (four days a week) and offers the chance to deliver the National Curriculum to enthusiastic primary pupils.
Key responsibilities
- Register pupil attendance each day and promptly raise any concerns to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Plan, deliver and assess the prescribed National Curriculum, aligning with the School Improvement Plan.
- Prepare medium‑term and short‑term schemes of work in line with whole‑school agreements.
- Record, assess and report on pupil progress, attainment and development.
- Communicate professionally with parents and keep senior leadership informed of pupil developments.
- Collaborate with external agencies, attend meetings and relay relevant information to the SLT.
- Maintain order and discipline on‑site and during off‑site visits, adhering to school policies.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching at primary level, specifically Year 5.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven classroom management strategies.
- Ability to assess and report on pupil progress effectively.
