Year 5 Teacher – Maternity Cover (Autumn Term)

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to join a community‑focused primary school in Wickford for a maternity cover placement starting this September. The role covers the Autumn term with the possibility of extension into the academic year, offering a flexible, full‑time opportunity for both experienced teachers and early‑career teachers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging KS2 lessons for Year 5 pupils.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment through effective behaviour management.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with the teaching team and contribute to whole‑school initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
• Experience teaching the KS2 curriculum.
• Ability to create creative, motivating lessons for energetic learners.
• Strong classroom management and teamwork skills.
