Year 5 Teacher – Maternity Cover (Full‑Time)

About the role

Astro Education is recruiting on behalf of a friendly village primary school near Warrington for a Year 5 teacher. The position covers a long‑term maternity leave starting in September and offers a supportive, community‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality lessons across the Year 5 curriculum.
• Create engaging, inclusive learning experiences for all pupils.
• Support pupils’ academic progress and personal development.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues, parents, and school leadership.
• Maintain a positive classroom atmosphere and manage behaviour effectively.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England.
• Experience teaching Key Stage 2 pupils.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour‑management skills.
• Passion for primary education and a commitment to student wellbeing.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
