Year 6 SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with complex special educational needs. This term‑time, full‑time position is based in Liverpool and plays a vital part in the child’s daily school experience.

Key responsibilities

• Support the child throughout the school day, addressing varied SEN needs.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and external professionals to deliver tailored learning and care strategies.
• Assist the child in engaging with activities, managing transitions, and developing social‑emotional skills.
• Adapt approaches to meet sensory, communication, and behavioural requirements.
• Provide personal care and physical support when required.

Required profile

• Experience working with children who have complex SEN (e.g., autism, medical needs, SEMH, PMLD).
• Calm, patient, and flexible attitude.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
• Genuine passion for inclusive education.
• Relevant SEN qualifications or training are beneficial but not essential.
