Year 6 Supply Teacher – Canterbury Primary Schools

About the role

We are partnering with several primary schools in Canterbury to find enthusiastic Year 6 teachers on a supply basis. The role involves guiding pupils through their final year of primary education and preparing them for the transition to secondary school.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, challenging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum for Upper Key Stage 2.
• Support pupils in developing confidence, independence and resilience for secondary school.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to pupils and parents.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment and manage behaviour effectively.
• Collaborate with school leadership and colleagues to share best practice.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it.
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2, preferably Upper KS2.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
• Commitment to helping pupils achieve academic and personal goals.
• Professional attitude and enthusiasm for education.

Required skills

• Lesson planning and delivery for Year 6 curriculum.
• Assessment and progress tracking.
• Effective classroom management.
