About the role
This full‑time position is for an experienced Year 6 teacher in a primary school in Leigh. The role starts as a temporary assignment with the possibility of becoming permanent, offering the chance to guide pupils through their final year of primary education and prepare them for the transition to secondary school.
Key responsibilities
- Lead a Year 6 class, delivering targeted and effective lessons.
- Prepare pupils for end‑of‑key‑stage assessments (SATs).
- Support academic progress and emotional readiness for secondary school.
- Monitor and report on pupil achievement and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and fellow staff to maintain a positive learning environment.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, particularly Year 6.
- Strong understanding of SATs preparation and assessment requirements.
- Ability to motivate and challenge pupils of varying abilities.
- Resilience, organisational skills and strong classroom leadership.
Required skills
- Knowledge of UK primary curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Effective lesson planning and delivery techniques.
- Capability to assess and support pupil progress.
