Year 6 Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

About the role

We are seeking a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with additional needs in a mainstream primary school in South Liverpool. This full‑time position focuses on helping the pupil access the curriculum and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one assistance to a pupil with SEND, supporting learning and engagement.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCo to meet targets set in the EHCP, IEP or individual support plans.
• Plan and adapt activities, resources and teaching strategies to suit the pupil’s needs.
• Promote communication, language development, social interaction and emotional wellbeing.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.

Required profile

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a mainstream or specialist setting.
