Young Person Support Worker – Durham (Part‑time, Temporary)

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Young Person Support Worker to join our residential and community teams in Durham. The role involves providing safe, personalised care for children and young people across a range of shift patterns, including day, night and respite shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Support children and young people with diverse needs, maintaining a 2:1 staffing ratio.
• Record detailed daily notes covering emotions, interactions, food diaries and routines.
• Assist with money management, receipt keeping and life‑skill development.
• Identify and report safeguarding concerns promptly.
• Deliver physical and emotional support, help with personal hygiene and household tasks.
• Contribute to support plans, risk assessments, incident reporting and programme implementation.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and excellent written communication.
• Emotional resilience and ability to manage challenging behaviour.
• Non‑judgemental, professional attitude towards all service users.
• Experience with SEMH needs, physical or learning disabilities is advantageous.
