Young Person Support Worker – Supported Accommodation

About the role

We are seeking a Young Person Support Worker to provide one‑to‑one assistance to Looked‑After Children, care leavers aged 16‑17 and adults at risk within supported accommodation in Brighton. The role involves helping young people develop independent living skills and ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one support and act as a key worker for assigned young people.
• Develop and maintain support plans, risk assessments and case records.
• Teach independent living skills such as budgeting, cooking, tenancy readiness and accessing local services.
• Collaborate with social workers, housing teams and external agencies.
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and positive outcomes for service users.

Required profile

• Experience supporting vulnerable young people or adults with complex needs.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and trauma‑informed approaches.
• Strong communication, report‑writing and organisational abilities.
• Ability to manage a caseload and work independently.
