Young Person's Support Worker Northumberland

About the role

Join Prospero Health & Social Care as a Support Worker for children and young people across Northumberland. You will work in residential and community settings, providing 8am‑8pm day or 8pm‑8am night shifts, including respite and sleep‑in coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Support young service users with a range of needs, maintaining a minimum 2:1 staffing ratio.
• Record detailed daily notes covering emotions, interactions, food diaries, routines and any concerns.
• Assist with money management, receipt keeping, life‑skill development and personal hygiene.
• Identify and report safeguarding issues promptly.
• Contribute to support plans, risk assessments, incident reporting and the implementation of individual programmes.
• Build positive relationships with young people, families and external health professionals.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to write comprehensive daily reports.
• Emotional resilience and problem‑solving skills.
• Professional, non‑judgemental attitude towards diverse needs.
• Experience working with SEMH, physical or learning disabilities is advantageous.
