Youth Justice Case Manager

About the role

The Youth Justice Case Manager will join Sefton Council's Youth Justice Service, working closely with partner agencies to support children and young people at risk of entering the criminal justice system. You will help safeguard vulnerable children, manage risk, and promote positive outcomes that keep them safe and on a hopeful path.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the needs of children and families and develop tailored intervention plans.
• Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners to deliver coordinated support.
• Safeguard children and young people, managing risk and vulnerability while ensuring public protection.
• Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust support packages as needed.
• Maintain accurate case records and comply with legislative and policy requirements.

Required profile

• Recognised professional qualification such as a Social Work Diploma in Probation Studies or Dip HE Youth & Community.
• Relevant youth or criminal‑justice degree with associated experience.
• Significant post‑qualification experience in assessing children’s needs and devising intervention plans.
• Strong knowledge of youth‑justice legislation, safeguarding protocols, and risk management.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with external agencies.
