Youth Support Worker

About the role

Turning Point is seeking a Youth Support Worker to join its supported accommodation service in Leyland, Lancashire. You will help young people living in the residence develop independence, manage daily living tasks and prepare for a successful transition into the wider community.

Key responsibilities

• Manage referrals, sign‑ups and move‑on processes for young people.
• Develop, implement and review individual support plans and risk assessments.
• Assist with budgeting, rent collection and regular financial monitoring.
• Provide practical daily‑living support such as cooking, cleaning and personal care.
• Facilitate weekly key‑working sessions, problem‑solving and day‑to‑day guidance.
• Coordinate housing management tasks, including repairs, tenancy issues and anti‑social behaviour.
• Maintain accurate daily records and case notes.
• Build relationships with external professionals to promote positive outcomes.
• Organise engaging activities for residents throughout the year.

Required profile

• Commitment to supporting young people with mental health, substance misuse or learning disabilities.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise caseload and use initiative.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
• Willingness to follow organisational policies and contribute to service improvement.

Required skills

• Experience in budgeting and financial support for individuals.
• Knowledge of risk assessment and support‑plan development.
• Understanding of housing management processes.
