1:1 Teaching Assistant – Brain Injury & Neurological Needs

About the role
Prospero Teaching is looking for a compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a secondary‑aged pupil with brain injury and neurological challenges. The role is based in a specialist SEND school in Fareham and focuses on providing consistent, personalised assistance throughout the school day.
Key responsibilities
- Support the pupil with emotional regulation, fatigue management and sensory overload.
- Adapt learning tasks and create a calm, structured environment to facilitate access to the curriculum.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapy teams and medical professionals to monitor wellbeing and adjust support as needed.
- Promote independence, confidence and communication skills.
Required profile
- Right to work in the UK and willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS check.
- Calm, nurturing demeanor with strong behaviour management skills.
- Motivational approach to encourage engagement and confidence.
- Experience supporting pupils with autism, learning difficulties or communication needs is desirable.
