Accounts Administrator – Finance & Accounting Role in Leeds

About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Administrator to join a growing SME in Leeds. The role offers a blend of purchase ledger, credit control and payroll duties, providing variety and ownership across the finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Process the end‑to‑end purchase ledger, ensuring accurate recording of invoices and payments.
• Manage credit control activities, chase outstanding debts and maintain strong client relationships.
• Perform bank postings and reconciliations on a regular basis.
• Run weekly and monthly payroll runs, handling deductions and reporting.
• Provide general accounts administration and finance support as required.
• Assist with month‑end activities when needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar all‑round accounts role within an SME environment.
• Strong knowledge of purchase ledger processing, credit control and bank reconciliations.
• Experience with payroll processing (weekly and monthly preferred).
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Confident communicator with a proactive approach.
