Advanced Cancer Care Pharmacist

About the role

Join the senior pharmacy team at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre to lead and develop advanced cancer care services. The post will deliver independent prescribing clinics for patients receiving systemic anti‑cancer therapies and create new models for delivering SACT beyond the acute hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Run pharmacist‑led independent prescribing clinics for haematological and solid tumour patients receiving SACT.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to design and implement innovative SACT delivery models.
• Lead programmes that enable SACT administration outside the acute hospital environment.
• Coordinate education and training for pharmacy and medical undergraduate students.
• Contribute to protocol and guideline development through departmental SACT and medicines governance groups.

Required profile

• Master of Pharmacy degree (or equivalent) and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Independent Prescribing qualification.
• Proven experience influencing prescribing practice in a cancer setting.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver person‑centred pharmaceutical care.
• Progress through the RPS Core Advanced Pharmacist Curriculum or a postgraduate clinical pharmacy qualification.
