AP Transformation Manager (Hybrid, Manchester)

About the role

Axon Moore is seeking an experienced AP Transformation Manager to lead a six‑month fixed‑term programme (with possible extension) that will redesign the Accounts Payable function of a fast‑growing e‑commerce business in Manchester. The role combines hands‑on AP operations with strategic change management, reporting directly to senior finance leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute an AP transformation roadmap aligned with overall business strategy.
• Redesign end‑to‑end AP processes—from purchase order to payment—to boost efficiency, accuracy and control.
• Identify, evaluate and implement automation and digital solutions compatible with NetSuite.
• Embed AI tools for invoice capture, anomaly detection and query handling, and up‑skill the team.
• Prioritise and deliver process improvements across invoice processing, vendor management, payment runs and reconciliations.
• Document comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures for all key AP activities.
• Establish robust controls and governance to ensure compliance with financial policies.
• Collaborate with the management accounts team to enhance month‑end close processes.
• Lead stakeholder communication, secure buy‑in and manage change implementation.
• Provide training on new processes and systems while maintaining day‑to‑day AP operations.

Required profile

• Proven AP transformation specialist with experience in organisations of £100m+ turnover.
• Track record of delivering sustainable process change and automation.
• Strong understanding of finance strategy and stakeholder management.
• Ability to lead a team through change and produce a clear succession plan.

Required skills

• NetSuite (ERP) implementation and optimisation.
• AI‑powered invoice capture and anomaly detection tools.
• Automation platforms for invoice processing and payment workflows.

What we offer

• Competitive salary £60,000‑£80,000 per year, dependent on experience.
