Area Manager – Early Years (Multi‑Site)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Area Manager to lead a portfolio of early years nursery settings across a region. This senior, field‑based position offers full ownership of performance, people and profitability, with the chance to shape strategy and culture within a growing childcare organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop Nursery Managers to deliver high standards of care, education and customer experience.
• Own regional financial performance, including budgets, P&L, occupancy targets and quality KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, safeguarding and quality standards across all sites.
• Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence and cultural consistency.
• Lead new nursery openings and acquisitions, managing integration and rollout.
• Represent the organisation in meetings with stakeholders, parents and external bodies.
• Identify under‑performing sites and implement structured improvement plans.

Required profile

• Proven track record as an Area Manager or equivalent multi‑site leader in the Early Years sector.
• Relevant Early Years qualifications.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing P&L, budgets and performance metrics.
• In‑depth knowledge of regulatory and safeguarding requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and retain high‑performing teams.
