Asbestos Surveyor / Analyst – Manchester

About the role

Penguin Recruitment is supporting a UKAS‑accredited asbestos consultancy in Manchester. The successful Asbestos Surveyor / Analyst will split time between surveying commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and public sector sites and performing laboratory‑based analytical work.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out Management and Refurbishment & Demolition asbestos surveys in line with HSG264.
• Perform air monitoring, leak testing, reassurance testing and 4‑stage clearances following HSG248.
• Collect bulk asbestos samples and ensure compliance with company procedures.
• Prepare accurate, compliant asbestos survey and analytical reports.
• Manage own workload while collaborating with an established operations team.
• Maintain adherence to current asbestos legislation and HSE guidance.

Required profile

• BOHS P402, P403 and P404 qualifications (essential).
• Proven experience as an Asbestos Surveyor or Analyst.
• Strong knowledge of HSG264, HSG248 and current asbestos legislation.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent communication and technical report‑writing abilities.
• Professional, organised and reliable work approach.

• Salary £36,000‑£42,000 per year, dependent on experience.
