Assistant Accountant – Birmingham

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our well‑established accounting firm in central Birmingham. This full‑time temporary position offers a supportive environment where you can develop your financial administration skills while working towards an attractive study support package.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accurate data entry and maintain financial records.
• Provide administrative support to the accounting team.
• Prepare and process invoices, expense claims and reconciliations.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve queries.
• Assist in the preparation of management reports using Excel.

Required profile

• Confident, adaptable and able to meet deadlines.
• Outgoing, driven and comfortable working in a collaborative team.
• Highly organised with strong analytical abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
