Assistant Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Financial Controller to join Expeditors’ finance leadership team in the United Kingdom. The role will support financial operations, ensure compliance and contribute to business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and review of monthly departmental P&Ls, quarterly and annual financial statements, and annual budgets.
• Partner with external advisors on statutory accounts and tax computations.
• Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all financial and tax reporting requirements, including VAT, payroll taxes and corporate income tax.
• Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.
• Identify and lead cost‑reduction and efficiency initiatives.
• Contribute to financial strategy, business planning and operational execution.
• Act as a business partner to district operations management, offering financial insights.
• Support development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) preferred.
• Proven experience in finance with broad accounting knowledge.
• Understanding of tax and regulatory requirements.
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
