Assistant Management Accountant – Hybrid, £28k-£30k

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a well‑established business in Birmingham City Centre. The role is ideal for an Accounts Assistant or junior accountant with a solid grasp of double‑entry bookkeeping who wants to deepen month‑end experience while studying towards an accountancy qualification. Over the next 18 months you will develop the skills needed to progress into a Management Accountant position.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including posting journals, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Perform bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Post expenses and handle other transactional finance tasks, supporting month‑end processes.

Required profile

• Confidence with bank reconciliations and journal posting.
• Good Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
• Studying towards an accountancy qualification or planning to start one.
• Motivation to develop with the business long‑term and a genuine enthusiasm for learning.
