About the role
We are seeking an Assistant SENCo / SEN Support Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Brent, London, starting September 2026. Working closely with the SENCo, you will help deliver high‑quality support for pupils with SEND across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
Key responsibilities
- Work alongside the SENCo to identify, assess and monitor pupils with SEND, ensuring appropriate provision.
- Deliver targeted interventions and personalised support programmes for pupils.
- Support the implementation, review and monitoring of IEPs, support plans and EHCP outcomes.
- Track pupil progress, analyse assessment data and contribute to reports for parents, governors and external agencies.
- Liaise with teachers, teaching assistants, parents and external professionals to ensure a collaborative approach.
- Assist staff in implementing effective SEND strategies and inclusive classroom practices.
- Contribute to annual reviews, referrals and maintain accurate SEND documentation.
- Promote a positive, inclusive environment that supports academic, social, emotional and behavioural development.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEND in a primary setting.
- Strong understanding of SEND practice, including EHCPs, interventions and inclusive strategies.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Proactive, reflective attitude with a commitment to improving outcomes for pupils with additional needs.
