Assistant Store Manager – Burnaby

About the role

We are looking for a motivated, hands‑on leader to support the daily operations of our garden centre and 50‑seat café in Burnaby. The Assistant Store Manager will inspire the team, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and help achieve financial and operational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager with day‑to‑day store operations and staff scheduling.
• Supervise, train, coach and motivate team members, fostering an inclusive workplace.
• Deliver warm, knowledgeable service, resolve guest concerns, and assist with product selection and plant‑care advice.
• Maintain merchandising standards, manage inventory, receive shipments and ensure plant health and presentation.
• Drive sales targets, monitor store performance, and implement promotional initiatives.
• Utilise Microsoft Office and the POS system for sales reporting and analysis.

Required profile

• People‑focused retail leader with a passion for gardening and hospitality.
• Flexible to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Physically able to stand, walk for extended periods, lift up to 50 lb and work in diverse weather conditions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using a point‑of‑sale (POS) system.
