Associate Director Legal

About the role

Britannia Pharmaceuticals is seeking an Associate Director Legal to lead legal strategy for its fast‑growing neurology business. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Medical, Commercial, Compliance and Regulatory functions to ensure the company meets its commercial and regulatory objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute legal strategy aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Provide clear, commercial legal advice to senior stakeholders.
• Lead drafting, review and negotiation of complex commercial agreements.
• Advise on pharmaceutical regulation, ABPI Code, PMCPA, GxP and governance matters.
• Support data protection strategy, including GDPR compliance, DPIAs and breach management.
• Identify and mitigate legal risk across business operations.
• Improve legal processes, contract governance and team efficiency.
• Partner closely with Medical, Commercial, Compliance and Regulatory teams.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer (England & Wales or equivalent) with 8–12 years’ post‑qualification experience.
• Strong experience in the pharmaceutical or life‑sciences sector.
• Expertise in commercial contracts, pharmaceutical regulation, ABPI, PMCPA, GDPR and UK data‑protection law.
• Proven experience advising on prescription medicines, generics or OTC portfolios.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and able to operate at pace.
• Data Protection Officer experience is desirable.
