Associate – Motor and Large Loss (Legal)

About the role

Keoghs Scotland is seeking a motivated Associate to join its Large Loss/Motor team. Working closely with the Partner, you will investigate and defend complex motor and catastrophic injury cases while managing a reduced caseload of litigated motor files.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct forensic review and analysis of relevant documents.
• Assess liability, quantum and causation for motor and large loss claims.
• Draft strategic legal advice and correspondence for clients, courts and witnesses.
• Instruct medical experts and liaise with clients throughout the litigation process.
• Attend court hearings and support counsel during trials.
• Assist Partners and team members with case preparation and business development initiatives, including writing articles and presentations.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with relevant legal experience.
• Demonstrated litigation experience, preferably in motor or large loss matters.
• Excellent communication, forensic and organisational abilities.
• Ability to prioritise under pressure and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience of time recording is desirable.
