Associate Publisher / Publisher – Scientific Journals

About the role

Springer Nature is a leading global scientific publisher. The Associate Publisher / Publisher will support the oncology journal portfolio, working with editors, societies and authors to ensure high‑quality research is published efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with Editors‑in‑Chief, editorial board members and society contacts, acting as the primary publishing liaison.
• Organise and host editorial board meetings and support the recruitment and diversification of board members.
• Collaborate with internal teams to prioritise journal development, set strategic plans and drive results such as indexing and open‑access growth.
• Monitor peer‑review data, optimise manuscript flow and resolve any delays with the editorial office.
• Maintain accurate journal records, manage contracts, honoraria payments and ensure compliance with COPE guidelines.
• Represent Springer Nature at scientific conferences and contribute to market intelligence by identifying hot topics and development opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Strong interest and understanding of the publishing business.
• Highly customer‑focused with excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Strong organisational abilities, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Problem‑solving and analytical mindset with adaptability to change.
• High level of computer literacy and ability to work cooperatively at all levels.
